Think About It! This all came about because we removed our wheel in the slip, but felt at unease when at anchor and didn't want to pay a lot for a folding or elliptical wheel. Sure, a vise grip™ might do the same job – but will also mess up the shaft. Our thought process started!
Designed Right! We presumed that the keyway might be in various positions when the rudder is in line with the keel, so the hub has 3 keyway slots to mount the Tiller-Wheel™ in line with the pedestal! It will fit all 1" OD shafts with a 1/4" keyway. Contact us for others.
Installation! Unscrew the shaft nut, remove and store the wheel, then slide the Tiller-Wheel™ onto the shaft and tighten the thumbscrew. That's it! Put the wheel nut on if you wish. Now, you've got the room and safety to boot!
Construction: All metal is stainless steel. The end knob is reinforced plastic. Hubs are stainless or Delrin™ and the shaft is securely pinned to the hub.
